Chapter 4
CVD (Cumulative Volume Delta)
The accumulated difference between aggressive buys and sells
What does it mean?
Delta is aggressive buy volume minus aggressive sell volume. CVD accumulates those differences over time. Every trade has both a buyer and a seller; the distinction here is which side initiated the execution aggressively.
CVD does not measure resting orders, net open positions or newly opened longs/shorts.
CVD does not measure resting orders, net open positions or newly opened longs/shorts.
How do you read it in CloudCraft?
CVD appears in a lower panel aligned with the heatmap's time axis. Toggle it through Settings > Data and indicators > CVD panel. Positive/negative colouring describes its value, not a forecast of future direction.
How do you use it?
If price rises while CVD declines, price and aggressive flow are diverging. Examine the region, liquidity and coverage before interpreting it; divergence alone does not establish a reversal.
Changing a bubble filter does not rewrite executed trades. Changing the price step does not change a trade's quantity.

Key points
CVD relies on loaded and accepted trades. Live and archived sources and starting coverage may differ, so absolute CVD values are not directly comparable across platforms. Match the time span, sources and loading state first. Historical calculations may be rebuilt as data arrives.
